castles of Montségur, Camon & Mirepoix guided tour
Our first stop is to the Château de Montségur, where during a1hr30 round hike I will tell you the dramatic story and tragedy of the Crusade against the Cathars which occured in the 12th century. We then spend a relaxing lunch, enjoying the local cuisine.
Next stop is for a relaxing walk in Camon, picturesque medieval village, classified amongst the most beauftiful villages of France, it is also known for its hundreds rose trees that are perfuming and decorating the streets. Camon was founded around a Benedictine abbey in the Xth century.
Finally last stop is Mirepoix, a beautiful medieval village (it has an amazing outdoor market every Monday morning, we can change the order of the day), the earliest mention of the place dates back to the 10th century. Lunch in a local restaurant.
