Enchanting nature, Marie Magdalene and Black Madonna
In the morning we depart from Carcassonne and will stop by Notre Dame de Marceille, where you will be able to mark respect to the Black Madonna. Admire the Black Madonna, about 300 of them only are still exiting in France, they would replicate the ancient mother goddesses of the Celts or the Egyptian deities. According to archaeologist Marie Durand-Lefebvre, we find through these black Virgins the survival of pagan idols glorifying the Earth, black and fertile. Yet another proof of the continuity between paganism and Christianity.
Then we drive to the Nebias Labyrinth, magical place with a high natural power. We will have a pic nic lunch there. Depending on your wishes, we may cross this enchanted forest for approximately two and a half hours or stop in a place conducive to enchanting magic so that you can meditate.
We will then go to Rennes les bains to hike up to the Isis chair, also known as the “devil chair”, where is the circle fountain. Have some time to meditate and wash your hand into the holy stream that runs down this place.
Let’s then go to the “lover’s pool” where Marie Magdalene used to give baptism. If you have a bath suit, you can easily get into the water.
Optional : Rennes le château at the end of the day.
Rennes-le-Chateau, a small village perched on a hilltop that became world famous thanks to the story of the priest Bérenger Sauniere that suddenly became immensely wealthy…Some suggest he discovered the lost treasure of the Knights Templars including the Holy Grail!
